I am passionate about football. I grew up in an era where sadly there were no opportunities for women to play professionally.
I believed I was good enough and back in 1989, when there was no one else I could see trying to make it happen, I thought the only way I could become a football player was if I tried do something about it. I worked hard over many years, especially in South Yorkshire, to try and raise the profile and increase opportunities for women in football.
Now finally, the future looks bright.
I consider myself to be a lost lioness; I believe I played a very small part in the success that can be seen today.
